Multiple dimensions of TQM success in developing countries: an empirical study on Deming Prize winners from India and Thailand

Abstract: This paper discusses the multiple dimensions of TQM success in developing countries. The results indicate that TQM promotes sustainable growth under any economic conditions through effects on process techno-innovation and organisational learning. The sustainability is based on TQM's impact on financial and non-financial factors. TQM helps sustainable increase of annual sales, profit and sales profitability. Some of the factors for effectiveness include quality, productivity, delivery, safety, moral, NPD system, knowledge creation, technology learning, process reform, customer satisfaction and employee satisfaction. This implies companies in developing countries can be benefited from TQM programmes in terms of financial and non-financial performance.
