Abstract: Based on the heuristic nonlinear creep model, the coupled nonlinear differential equations for the motion of a two-axle bogie moving on curved tracks are derived, considering the inertia forces. To illustrate the accuracy of the analysis, the limiting case is examined. Finally, the difference between the influences of the suspension parameters on the critical hunting speed evaluated by the linear creep model and the nonlinear creep model is compared. In addition, the influences of the suspension parameters on the critical hunting speed with various radius of curvature are also presented.
