Using web 2.0 technology in entrepreneurship education: Wikis as a tool for collaborative and collective learning

Abstract: The challenge facing higher education is to maintain and increase the quality of teaching and learning against a backdrop of stakeholders' financial and, particularly, social and employability demands (Anon, 2009). This paper presents the results and experiences of an entrepreneurship education study involving web 2.0 technology, specifically Wikis. The properties of Wikis mean that documents can be created, shared and edited among multiple users, ideal for social learning in student groups. Web 2.0 is evolving rapidly, and it is clear that these new technologies bring diverse groups together; connecting previously unconnected businesses with universities and students in social learning.
