Welding information system of The German Welding Society

Abstract: This paper outlines the reasons that prompted the German Welding Society to create a welding information system. This overall concept has above all been setup to meet the future needs of small and medium-sized concerns; it can be subdivided in to a welding literature data base, a welding facts data base, and a welding expert system. Their structure is described.
