Freedom, responsibility and product liability

International Journal of Materials and Product Technology (IJMPT), Vol. 3, No. 2, 1988

Abstract: Man is responsible for his actions and for the results of those actions. Responsibility is logically based on the social relations of man. Legal responsibility is a necessity so that members of a society can exercise their freedoms and understand their rights and obligations. All this is true in any society, but is particularly true in 'free' societies. Responsibility based on social relations provides a logical basis for legal responsibility. An equitable law of product liability would recognize the responsibilities of all parties: manufacturers, sellers, buyers, users and third parties.
