International Journal of Materials and Product Technology (IJMPT), Vol. 6, No. 1, 1991

Abstract: The plastic region fastening method is superior to the torque method. However, it has not been introduced into production lines because of the lack of an appropriate control technique and positive quality control. With a view to introducing the plastic region fastening method into production lines, appropriate fastening control was investigated. Finally, both the angle method with a range of compensation and a quality control method based on detection of the yield point were established. They are currently being used by Toyota on many of their engine parts.
