Abstract: The effect of complex coating of Sic-Si-ZrSi2 on the protecting 3-D C/C composite from oxidizing has been studied. Primary coating of Sic was formed by the reaction of Si and 3-D C/C composite substrate. An enhancement coating of Si and ZrSi2 was provided as a crack sealant and oxidation inhibitor. The SIC-Si-ZrSi2 coating was able to protect the 3-0 C/C composite from oxidation at 1600°C in air for long period of time.
