Abstract: A technique was developed of using laser welding to joint different thicknesses or strengths of sheet metal in a one-piece stamping process. This technology provides the following benefits: cost reduction, improved body accuracy, high body stiffness, body weight reduction and improvement of anti-corrosion characteristics.
