by Soonhung Han
International Journal of Product Lifecycle Management (IJPLM), Vol. 4, No. 4, 2010

Abstract: The macro-parametric method is for the exchange of CAD models, where the history of modelling commands is translated. Five well-known commercial CAD systems have been analysed to arrive at the core commands set. Primitive functions of a CAD system have been implemented in the TransCAD system. New technologies such as ontology or web services can improve the macro-parametric approach against the problems like persistent naming.
