Exchanging history-based parametric CAD models using ISO 10303

Abstract: This paper describes the current status of the international standard ISO 10303 (STEP) in respect of its capabilities for the capture and exchange of history-based parametric CAD models. The primary resources needed are all now available, and the necessary implementable part of the standard will shortly be in place for use by translator developers.
