Abstract: The present paper reports on the compatibility characteristics of sintered materials under axisymmetric and plane strain cold sinter-forging conditions. Experiments were conducted using different sintered preforms in the form of discs and rectangular strips, and measurements were made for strain variations at the free surface. The theoretical and experimental results obtained are analysed and discussed critically to explain the compatibility characteristics of sintered materials during cold forging, and there results presented graphically.
