Abstract: With the worldwide competition being so strong, it is essential for motor vehicles to have high reliability. The methodology for motor vehicle reliability design, namely Power Transmission (PT) of vehicle, is one of the ways to reach this objective. The stage of design is the most important one in the life cycle of a motor vehicle. Reliability design, within the designing stage, correlates directly with the vehicle reliability. The problem of a practical vehicle design methodology has been solved by developing a methodology suited to the purpose. The basis of the developed methodology represents a contemporary approach to designing, comprising the phases of conceptual, preliminary and detail designs, with applying of the reliability design method within these phases.
