Abstract: This paper discusses the needs of the new generation of networks with advanced techniques based on intelligent and dynamic features to resolve complex issues that faced by future networks and provide solutions to the different limitations of the actual proposed techniques in networking. We believe that intelligent agents could provide these advanced tools. To prove our idea, we propose an extension to a networking platform with intelligent capabilities and define an agent behaviour to resolve a specific problem faced by a DiffServ network. Results show great increase in the global behaviour of the DiffServ network due to the agent integration.
