The global environment through the SLEPT framework
by Jaime Ortiz
International Journal of Business and Globalisation (IJBG), Vol. 5, No. 4, 2010

Abstract: This paper offers a holistic approach to dissect the most relevant social, legal, economic, political and technological (SLEPT) conditions of a country for investment purposes. Such a framework, when combined with a scoring model, proves useful to multinational companies, governments and international organisations at the time to assist them to make strategic decisions and establish investment priorities. The ever changing nature of the operating environment defines the scope and limitations of the SLEPT framework as a scanning management tool.
