Abstract: This paper explores the internationalisation of contracting firms from Malaysia into India. The authors first discuss the generic internationalisation process model before moving on to a more specific discussion of the internationalisation process adopted by the Malaysian contracting firms. The main driver of this whole process is the external variables (host country attractiveness) to a much greater extent as compared with the internal variables. This article supported the importance of psychic distance in the push towards internationalisation of this specific sector. Directions for future research are also presented.
