Abstract: Fetal heart sound signals also named as fetal phonocardiogram (fPCG), detected from maternal abdomen, posses multiple resonance frequencies. This leads towards the need to describe the fPCG signals, not only in terms of time but also in terms of frequency domain, also known as spectral estimation. The objective is to provide effective fetal heart sound spectrum estimation technique for the prerecorded fetal heart sounds, under varied conditions. In this paper, various digital signal processing techniques are applied; compared and finally most appropriate technique is used for the spectrum inference of the fetal heart sound signal.
