Abstract: Use of ultra wideband technology with spread spectrum scheme will make a big effect to short range wireless network. The transmitter-receiver synchronisation and one signal capture method for DS-UWB signals are investigated and then the channel impulse response has been studied via simulation. Synchronisation and the signal capture have also been performed for DS-PAM transmitter and IEEE 802.15.3a channel model, which are simulated using Matlab code. The simulation results are presented and discussed. We analyse the relativity of the receive signal with a set pilot signal which though two main kinds of UWB channels (AWGN, IEEE.802.3a) using different Eb/N0. The theoretical analysis including a simulation study indicates the effectiveness of pilot signal method to perform the UWB synchronisation estimation and signal capture.
