Abstract: In this investigation, the influences of fuel injection system characteristics on the first and second laws of thermodynamics are analysed in DI diesel engines with swirl combustion chamber. The first law analysis is done by using the results of KIVA Π code. The results show a good agreement with the experimental data. Also for the second law analysis during a closed cycle, a home made computational code is developed. Behaviours of the results are a good accordance with the literature. The results represent sensitiveness of various injection system parameters on the first and second law terms.
