Control of distributed mechatronic systems - a transition logic-based approach
by A.-C. Huang
International Journal of Computer Applications in Technology (IJCAT), Vol. 17, No. 1, 2003

Abstract: A transition logic-based methodology is proposed in this paper for the design and implementation of the real-time multitasking control of multiprocessor mechatronic systems. All activities of each subsystem are modelled as a set of states with their relations represented by a state transition diagram. Each diagram is controlled by a state transition processor. A host computer coordinates all subsystems via appropriate network communication. A distributed control network is designed for testing the efficacy of the proposed method. An application of the network is implemented for the control of a miniature gantry system to simulate object transfer activities in an automated factory.
