From agglomerations to technology- and knowledge-driven clusters: aeronautics cluster policies in Europe

Abstract: Structural changes in the markets for large civil aircrafts cause new challenges for cluster policies in regions with production locations. The paper describes these challenges based on Porter's diamond model and compares the strategies and conditions for cluster policies at the two main Airbus production locations in Hamburg and Toulouse.
