Document workflow: modelling and issues for the non-savvy

Abstract: Contemporary organisations are governed by a multitude of documents, information and data crucial for the efficient and smooth running of operations. This paper presents a concise review of the modules which comprise such a system in terms of modelling and flow of documents from a simple overview to a more elaborate making use of the new web-based internet technologies. The final section of paper explains the importance of the human factor and considers the special issues management must cope with in the endeavour to successfully implement document workflow solution.
