International Journal of Economics and Business Research (IJEBR), Vol. 2, No. 3/4, 2010

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to illustrate the entrepreneurial activities in which Croatian small and medium enterprises operate, as well as the obstacles and constraints that hinder a faster development of entrepreneurship, and to offer solutions to improve entrepreneurial activities in the Republic of Croatia. Moreover, the paper provides a comparative analysis of entrepreneurial activities in Croatia, new EU members, and South East European countries. The data used in this paper were taken from the World Bank publication Doing Business 2008 and from not-for-profit academic research consortium Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM).
