Cauchy problem for linear thermoelastic systems, Part II: Applications
by Kay Jachmann
International Journal of Dynamical Systems and Differential Equations (IJDSDE), Vol. 2, No. 3/4, 2009

Abstract: This note deals with concrete applications of the unified approach for studying linear thermoelasticity models presented in the first part (Jachmann and Reissig, 2009). Results on well-posedness, Lp-Lq decay estimates and on diffusion phenomena will be discussed for solutions to Cauchy problems of the classical (or type-1), type-2, type-3 and second sound models of thermoelasticity with and without lower order terms for isotropic media. The main focus lies on problems in one space dimension, but applications to 3D problems will be sketched as well. The considerations of this paper are part of Jachmann (2008).
