Abstract: This is a commentary on the recent trends in the protection of intellectual assets in the Global Pharmaceutical Industry. Patenting inventions, enforcing acquired rights, evolving newer ways of sharing knowledge for effective cooperative working through diverse licensing arrangements between organisations are the keys to success in this fiercely competitive industry.
