Challenges and perspectives of supply chain collaborations in the Indian automobile sector

Abstract: The emphasis given on improving supply chains in organisations both by companies and academia in the past two decades shows the growing importance of integrating manufacturing and marketing processes of organisations. In recent years, supply networks are being recognised as strategic tools that enable companies to fight global competitive battles. The article studies the nature of supplier collaborations and technology's role in improving coordination across the supplier networks. The article provides an insight into supplier networks of Indian automobile companies and presents some cases to demonstrate this.
