Improving information systems productivity: a need for revolution

Abstract: Current work practices in the development and maintenance or information systems (IS) are inefficient and similar to those found in the automobile industry a century ago. A revolution is needed to bring a quick end to these work practices and help the IS profession to dramatically increase its productivity.
