Abstract: Earthquakes are among the most terrifying and destructive natural disasters threatening humans. As the Wenchuan earthquake in China of May 2008 turned out to be one of the most severe threats to people's lives, with the number of dead being more than 80,000, we have to study the lessons from the earthquake disaster as an opportunity to better prepare ourselves for future disasters.
