Abstract: Polyvinyl alcohol-CdTe nanocomposites were prepared by two methods. The first method, a one-step solution growth technique at room temperature was used to prepare PVA capped CdTe nanoparticles (NPs). The second method was mainly directed to prepare PVA doped with CdTe NPs precipitated before. The characterisation of PVA pure and PVA-CdTe NPs were carried out using the X-ray diffraction, FTIR and (UV-Vis) spectrum. The analyses indicated that the crystal structure of CdTe NPs is cubic and the crystal size of capped particle (8.202 nm) is smaller than that of doped one (18.357 nm).
