Abstract: In this paper, an investigation on the effect of the external magnetic field on the inductance, resistance and quality factor of the electrodeposited composite wire structured magnetic inductor is presented. The results showed the external field significantly influences the performance of the inductor, and there is a threshold value for the external field, above which the influence becomes insignificant. The influence also depends on the angle between the magnetic field direction and the longitudinal direction of the inductor. Such dependence becomes insignificant under certain conditions of the external field and the operating frequency.
