Instructional strategy a student-centred approach: pedagogy and instructional design

Abstract: Over the years, one has seen the development of various approaches for improving the relevance and effectiveness of education. In this paper, we address to the various methods involved in teaching and learning, such as the traditional lecture mode, use of multimedia, design and development of online learning etc., and to suggest useful methods that can be attempted in imparting knowledge to the students. Faculty should learn to use technology in a way that allows them to address the mission of the college: student learning and student success. This means that teachers will need to learn the pedagogical (not just technical) priorities related to instructional technologies. Since learners have different learning styles or a combination of styles, teachers should design activities that address their modes of learning in order to provide significant experiences for each class participant.
