Abstract: Nowadays many types of model based on the Activated Sludge Models (ASMs) have been developed. Most of them supposed that all the substrate removal processes are independent. Based on the mechanism of the interaction among microorganisms and considering the interaction among the processes of organisms oxidation, nitrifying, denitrifying and biological phosphorus removal, Fully Coupled Activated Sludge Model No. 1 (FCASM1) is obtained. After rough evaluation, FCASM1 has been proved to be more adapted to the real conditions of Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTP).
