US and UK experience in technology transfer – a comparative analysis

Abstract: A comparison is made of the links that exist between learned and business institutions in the USA and the UK. The infrastructures and the legislative backgrounds are described, and accounts are given of the experience of setting up science parks. An attempt is made to predict future trends, and recommendations are made of how interaction and dialogue can be translated into economic success.
