by Eugenio Triana
International Journal of Technology Management (IJTM), Vol. 4, No. 4/5, 1989

Abstract: In this paper, presented to the 'Licensing in Europe' Conference, 23-24 June 1988, London, the author examines technology 'parks' as a mechanism for inducing cross-fertilization and technology transfer. Examples are cited from Italy, Japan and the UK to show how technology parks can aid the various phases of the innovation process, and how they can contribute to education and training, information gathering, patenting and licensing, entrepreneurial services, commercial promotion, and financing and venture capital.
