On implementing the social innovation in Poland

Abstract: The paper presents assumptions underlying the Polish reform started in the 1980s. This attempted to perform in parallel two mutually inter-related processes: decentralization of the management of the national economy, and reorganization of the state strategic managerial centre. The paper discusses the reality of the reform, which – in its essence – was intended to be a great social innovation. An attempt is also made to present the reasons for the slow pace of implementation of reform changes.
