The MS connection in IS

Abstract: The growth in information technology will amost certainly continue in the 1990s. Rapid advances on many fronts will assure a wider penetration of computers and information systems globally. One area which has seriously lagged behind these developments is management's use of information technology for decision making. One of the key elements of decision support systems, the 'model base', has not kept pace with the other elements of the system. The main reasons for this deficiency is discussed and factors that contribute towards improved modelling are pointed out.
