International Journal of Technology Management (IJTM), Vol. 12, No. 7/8, 1996

Abstract: This paper presents findings from a collaborative benchmarking project carried out among four subsidiaries of multinational manufacturing enterprises in Ireland. The research explored how these subsidiaries acquired specialised capabilities and broadened their mandates through generating their product development skills, and through establishing linkages between successive product development projects, with their own supply base and with management at corporate level.
