Abstract: In this study, the first and second laws of thermodynamics are employed to analyse the performance of an experimental Vapour-Compression Refrigerating Machine (VCRM) using R410A. The exergy method is used to evaluate the irreversibility of each component when some working parameters are varied. The dimensionless exergy loss rate of each component is analysed, emphasising their contribution to the total exergy loss rate.
