International Journal of Materials and Product Technology (IJMPT), Vol. 19, No. 3/4, 2003

Abstract: This paper investigates the use of helical reinforcement to improve the ductility and strength of high strength concrete beams reinforced with high strength steel. It reports the results of the experimental testing of twelve model beams and four prototype beams. These results show that there is a considerable improvement of the strength and ductility of beams when helical reinforcement is used.
