Manufacturing traceability data management in the supply chain
by Julio Garrido Campos, Luis Rodriguez Miguez
International Journal of Information Technology and Management (IJITM), Vol. 8, No. 3, 2009

Abstract: The paper proposes the organisation of manufacturing traceability data in a similar way to the product structure, but including machining operations. In ISO 10303 STEP data transfer scenarios, the proposed linkage between traceability data and CAD/CAM/CNC feature data provides significance to the traceability data, driving the data transfer through the industrial partners. Traceability data will be understandable and available whenever required, irrespective of the manufacturing process or supply chain complexity.
