Modelling wind turbine mechanical power by friction effects
by J. Villanueva, L. Alvarez-Icaza
International Journal of Modelling, Identification and Control (IJMIC), Vol. 6, No. 3, 2009

Abstract: The mechanical power of a wind turbine is modelled from a friction phenomenon perspective. Two models for the available power are proposed based on a relative speed between the wind speed and turbine blades. The main advantage of these new models is in the possibility of using real-time standard identification techniques for recovering their parameters value. Models are compared with a heuristic reference model showing good performance.
