International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business (IJESB), Vol. 8, No. 2, 2009

Abstract: The financial profiles of Smaller Manufacturing Enterprises (SMEs) are examined in this paper. The primary purpose of the paper is to better understand the innovation process and improve the immediate and future product offerings by the SMEs to compete more effectively in the marketplace. The study results indicate that the SMEs do not have the adequate financial experience and resources for commercialising their products and that they need more detailed financial planning starting at the earliest stage of the premarket period.
