R&D-portfolio management of German industrial enterprises

Abstract: Successful enterprises can secure their superior competitive position at the market especially by holistically and consistently optimising their R&D-portfolio. In doing this, not only the quality of the offered performance programmes can be advanced, but also the success factors cost, time and profitability can be improved considerably. The paper is based on an empirical survey on the innovation management of German industrial enterprises. The paper presents the essential results and insights from the analysis, which can serve as a basis for the development of an EDP-based evaluation model for the innovation portfolio selection.
