Abstract: The fall of Signal-to-Interference Ratio (SIR) in CDMA systems below a threshold is often termed as call outage for analysis of capacity. CDMA allows soft handoff, in which the signal strength of the mobile is detected and tracked by the searchers from more than one base station. In this paper, effect of margin of power by varying cell distance ratio and outage probability (Pout) by varying margin of power for soft handoff has been analysed using SWP software for the model reported in research paper (Lee, 1989). We have taken path loss exponent μ = 4 and standard deviation σ = 8 dB.
