Abstract: This paper presents a study of the effect of process parameters on Out-Of-Roundness (OOR)-form accuracy obtained through Ultrasonic Drilling (USD) of holes in alumina-based ceramics using Silicon Carbide (SiC) abrasive. The parameters considered are workpiece material, tool material, grit size of the abrasive, power rating and slurry concentration. Taguchi's optimisation approach is used to obtain the optimal parameters for minimum OOR. The result shows that the OOR increases with the increase of grit size. The effect of concentration on OOR is insignificant. The results obtained are validated by conducting the confirmation experiments.
