Abstract: In recent years, software development based on Mobile Agents (MAs) has received important attention because it introduces a new development paradigm for widely distributed and heterogeneous systems. However, the existing work has mostly focused on the implementation phase of the MA-based applications development process and they do not take into consideration the analysis and design phases. In this paper, we present a conceptual approach to model MAs. This approach is materialised by a Unified Modelling Language (UML) profile, called MA-UML for modelling MAs.
