Abstract: The growth rate of engineering institutions in the recent past in India has been phenomenal and the problems associated with this growth are also very high. In this context, it is noteworthy to look into the quality issues of the engineering education system in India. This paper analyses the perceptions of teachers about these quality issues under different management styles of these institutes. Multi-criteria decision-making tool, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), has been utilised for the study. The paper brings out the differences in quality problems under the four styles (Autonomous, Government, Aided and Self-financing) of managements in India.
