Abstract: This paper investigates the control problem of a greenhouse climate. This study shows that a fuzzy controller can be applied successfully to control the greenhouse climate. In this work, we present a fuzzy controller with guaranteed H performance and additional constraints of the closed-loop pole location, in Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) regions. This LMI region covers most practical performance specification. Based on the Takagi–Sugeno (T–S) models an identification procedure to estimate the greenhouse models parameters is considered. The model-based fuzzy controller design integrating such performance specifications is proposed. The associated controller combines two objectives, which are formulated as a convex optimisation problem involving LMIs. Simulation results show that the fuzzy controller yields the optimal disturbance rejection performance, the desired transient responses and a good set point tracking.
