Abstract: This paper proposes a restructuring strategy for detecting the process operating mode and for calibrating the control law according to process objectives which are pre-defined at management level. An active accommodation of the process is based on controller restructuring when the objective has to change due to a loss of process performance, whilst a passive accommodation is based on a supervised robust control method. The restructuring strategy is an active accommodation method of control law according to some operating modes. The application concerns a milling operation, the proposed model of which makes the monitoring of the cutting process possible. The regulation depends on actions resulting from the detection-accommodation additional loop. This loop is specified by two hybrid automata. The simulation results show the interest and the feasibility of the method.
