Multiple component series systems with imperfect repair
by Mohammed Hajeeh, Faten Jabsheh
International Journal of Operational Research (IJOR), Vol. 4, No. 2, 2009

Abstract: Systems continuously deteriorate over time, and hence require repair and maintenance to uphold their reliability and availability. Two imperfect multi-component repair models are examined in this paper, where it is assumed that the performance of a system becomes inferior after each failure. The first model presents a system that fails in a single failure model, while the second examines a system that fails in one of two modes. In both models, the long-term performance of a system is studied by measuring the steady-state probability of the system in the operational state. An example is presented to illustrate the concept.
