Employee communication, information technology use, and mandatory training

Abstract: E-training is becoming an important part of organisational practices intended to support the workforce. This study examined links between a worker's perceptions of a first-time e-training program and two outcomes: The worker's attitude towards sexual harassment, and the worker's expected behaviour in dealing with it. Using a structural equation model to analyse the data, the authors found that the link between training and behaviour is complex. The overall positive link between training and behaviour is due to training's strong positive effect on worker attitude. Incorporating qualitative data that was also gathered, implications for sexual harassment training and e-training are discussed.
